June 13, 2019

The VIII edition of the Impulso Awards, organized by the University of Alicante and the Alicante Science Park, has become, another year, the launching event of the innovative work, transfer and entrepreneurship developed in the institution. The awards gala took place in June the 13th at the Museum of the UA, in a massive meeting chaired by the dean Manuel Palomar.

In total, 32 innovative initiatives have been presented in different categories. Among them, six in modality B – addressed to business projects and promoted by students or graduates. In this category, a team formed by three of our research members (Carlos A. Jara, José L. Ramón and Andrés Úbeda) who have supervised the Final Master's Thesis of two students from the Master's Degree in Automation and Robotics (Manuel Gómez and Andrea González) has obtained one of the awards. The project developed jointly with Artefactos consists of creating a hand exoskeleton (exoglove). For this, a CAD program has been used to make the design. After this, it has been manufactured with 3D printing, and finally the necessary electronics have been  added to evaluate its performance.
