The 2nd MYOREHAB Workshop was an essential event within the MYOREHAB project, aimed at showcasing recent advancements in hand motor rehabilitation technologies. The workshop provided a platform for presenting the latest developments in cutting-edge techniques such as HD-EMG, virtual reality, and deep learning. These technologies are being explored to enhance neural monitoring, improve diagnostics, and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.

A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to discussing the discoveries and results achieved so far, with the goal of fostering collaboration among the international research teams. Key topics included progress on the development of the MYOREHAB platform, which integrates innovative rehabilitation methods tailored to patients' needs, taking into account pathological variability, geographical differences, and the importance of personalized treatments.

The event also allowed researchers to address challenges faced during the project, share insights, and brainstorm potential solutions to continue advancing the platform’s effectiveness. In this way, the workshop played a crucial role in furthering the MYOREHAB project’s objectives, ensuring the project remains at the forefront of hand motor rehabilitation research.

On November 23rd and 24th, we successfully held the first MYOREHAB consortium workshop in São Carlos, Brazil, as part of the XII Congreso Iberoamericano de Tecnologías de Apoyo a la Discapacidad (IBERDISCAP 2023). The event featured plenary talks by MYOREHAB team members and hands-on sessions exploring key project technologies, including high-density electromyography, deep learning, and virtual and augmented reality. Additionally, participants visited the Neural Engineering Research Laboratory (NER Lab) at the University of Campinas, led by Prof. Leonardo Elias, fostering valuable discussions on potential collaborations within our research network.

We extend our gratitude to Prof. Leonardo Elias and Prof. Carina Germer (UNICAMP) for their support in organizing the event locally, as well as to Prof. Adriano Gonçalves and Prof. Glauco de Paula (EESC/USP), the organizers of IBERDISCAP 2023, for enabling us to host our workshop within this significant congress.
