ARMIA is the first project of the Exoforge initiative. ARMIA project aims at developing a sensorized arm wearable which allows the measurement of kinematic and muscular activity during upper-limb rehabilitation therapy. The device will include inertial and electromyographic sensors to track the user’s activity. It will also include software applications for training and rehabilitation (serious games) combined with augmented and virtual reality environments.

Project goals:

  • Development of a soft textile sleeve which adapts to arm morphology.
  • Full integration of low-cost inertial and EMG sensors in the device.
  • Implementation of wireless communication to PCs and mobile devices.
  • Development of easy to configure acquisition and calibration software.
  • Design of compatible VR-based and AR-based rehabilitation activities.
Exoforge is a multidisciplinary laboratory for the development of robotic rehabilitation and assistance devices within the Human Robotics group of the University of Alicante aimed at the participation of students in the last courses of the Higher Polytechnic School of Alicante.
