WORKSHOPS
What is an ALE workshop?
ALE workshops are open to faculty members, students, engineers, and anyone who have experience in or are curious about active learning, and are interested in improving engineering education. The ALE co-operation is based on workshops for persons dedicated to better teaching from institutions ready to implement new teaching methods and collaboration of workshop participants between the workshops.
The ALE workshops do not pretend necessarily to break new ground but to provide a focused forum for the exchange of ideas and mutual enrichment for teachers and institutions.
Since ALE is meant to promote active learning, ALE workshops are very active themselves. Rather than the traditional mix of plenary talks and paper presentations, ALE workshops aim at involving participants in active key-note plenaries, hands-on sessions, group reflections and interactive poster activities.
The number of participants is limited in order to guarantee active participation by all, and in order to provide the opportunity to facilitate exchange of ideas and practices and cooperation within the international active-learning community.
