Dr. Carolina Díaz visits HURO

June 10, 2019

Dr. Carolina Díaz from ROSETTA Lab in the Faculty of Engineering of the National University of Cuyo (UNCUYO), Argentina, has visited HURO during the months of June and July. We have raised together the foundations of a project for the simulation and teleoperation of a UR3 robot available in our research group at the University of Alicante. The main objective of this virtual laboratory will be to control the UR3 robot remotely. This laboratory will be put to the service, with restricted access, of the students and teachers of the UNCUYO, either for tasks in teaching and / or research.
The structure that arises is the interrelation between real and virtual environment making use of augmented reality. This type of laboratory is a very powerful tool in the area of Robotics teaching, since it allows the student to establish knowledge and perform different practices, such as planning trajectories, evaluating the workspace / collisions, and testing different control strategies, taking into account the kinematics and dynamics of the robot. This laboratory will test different skills in simulated environments and verify them in the augmented reality environment in the first phase of the project, and later in the real environment located in the HURO laboratory of the University of Alicante.

Human Robotics Group - University of Alicante

HURO research lines are focused in the benefit of humans and environmental impact, developing solutions for human-robot interaction and services, for helping disabled people and for spacecraft control applications.
